What Happens During Ear Pinning Surgery?

How Do You Know if You’re a Good Candidate for Ear Pinning Surgery?

Don’t be dissatisfied with the shape or size of your ears when pinning them could be the solution.

In some people, the ears may protrude too far from the side of the head. Ear pinning is a common procedure designed to re-position the ears closer to the side of the head.

What Happens During Ear Pinning Surgery?

Incisions are made behind the ear where suture are put in to reposition cartilage. This reshapes the ear and brings it closer to the head. Incisions are small and scarring will be minimal and behind the ear.

Recovery and Results

This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia but can also be done under general anesthetic. A head dressing that covers the ears is worn for one week, and the patient is able to return to work after one week. Dr. Levine can perform the surgery at a private clinic that specializes in cosmetic surgery or at St. Joseph’s Health Centre
